Exports of Malaysian palm oil during Oct. 1-20 rose three percent to 1,026,488 million tonnes, cargo surveyor data showed, boosted by buying from Europe and China. Palm oil prices have climbed 4.3 percent so far in October, fuelled by optimism that output volumes in Malaysia, the world's second-largest producer, may not surge as much as earlier estimated. Market players will be watching for another cargo surveyor Societe Generale de Surveillance to issue export data for the Oct. 1-20 period. Malaysia has set its crude palm oil export tax for November at 4.5 percent, a government circular showed. Exports of Malaysian palm oil products from Oct. 1 to 15 rose 6.6 percent to 781,043 tonnes from 732,412 tonnes shipped during Sept. 1-15.
